Our Story

A Dedicated Feline Haven

Founded by Susan Spreder-Mohr, The Cat Chalet was born out of a deep-seated love for cats and a desire to provide a peaceful, stress-free boarding experience.

Susan’s professional journey in cat care began in 1982 when she started grooming cats. In 1984, she assisted in starting "The Cozy Cat" boarding facility, working alongside Dr. Emil E. Perona and gaining invaluable hands-on veterinary and animal-care wisdom. Throughout the late 80s and early 90s, Susan successfully bred and showed Grand Champion Persians.

In 2002, she opened The Cat Chalet. The facility is directly connected to her home, meaning your cat is never left alone in an isolated warehouse. We treat every guest as a member of our own family, ensuring they get the care, playtime, and privacy they deserve.

We welcome and accommodate all feline breeds, from active Bengals and vocal Siamese to gentle Ragdolls and large Maine Coons, who thrive in our massive, multi-level condos. Backed by Susan's extensive background in showing and grooming Grand Champion Persians, we also provide specialized daily care (including face and eye wipe-downs) for flat-faced breeds like Persians and Himalayans.

"Cats are unique, sensitive creatures who thrive in clean, quiet, and secure settings. At The Cat Chalet, we've designed everything to respect their boundaries while spoiling them with attention."
